Furniture Care

Care instructions

General:

To achieve a unique finish our wooden furniture is constructed from solid timbers. Being a natural product, temperature and humidity can affect the natural expansion and contraction of timber so always avoid excessive heat and low humidity around furniture. Due to the nature of solid timber, we cannot guarantee that minor shrinkage will not occur, despite the raw material being pre-dried in a kiln. This includes splits or cracks.

Table tops:

Table tops are either solid timber or veneer and are treated with either water or oil based lacquers depending on the model. These are a very durable finishes but should be respected at all times.

We recommend covering table tops with a waterproof cover during use. At the very least, tablecloths and/or placemats, coasters and runners should be used. Avoid placing anything hot directly on the surface, e.g. plates, cups, saucepans. Always avoid direct contact with general dinner ware that has an abrasive underside. If spillage occurs directly onto surface, wipe off immediately with a slightly damp cloth, then wipe with dry cloth.

Painted finish:

The process to achieve this look comes from many coats of paint. To maintain this surface, use a slightly damp cloth using mild detergent, then wipe with dry cloth.
